The match of Yuksa – FC Kudrivka can easily claim the title of the most spectacular in the new season, together with the epic matches of FC Oleksandria – Shakhtar (Donetsk) – 4:3 and Avangard (Lozova) – Olympia (Savintsi) – 4:4 in the Amateur Cup of Ukraine. And the player who made a particularly big contribution to the strong-willed away victory of the Kudriv residents in the match with seven goals was the 2009 European champion among young men Korkishko. Dmytro scored two goals – one from the penalty spot, and the other with such a shot that there was no competition in the Sport Arena column “Goal of the tour“. The next rounds will pass, the first stage will be over – and we will still remember this exquisite shot at nine. As they say, “for execution”!
So the jury of Sport Arena and PFL had an easy task – to simply confirm Korkiško’s benefit as the hero of the 10th round of the First League. By hard work – and honor!
The hero of the tenth round in the First League, Dmytro Korkishko, in a traditional interview with Sport Arena, shared his impressions of the victory in the crazy match against Yuksa (4:3), and also recalled the victory at the youth Euro and his performances abroad.
– How unexpected and pleasant is it for you to be recognized as the best player of the tour in the First League?
– I didn’t even think about it. I saw on the Sport Arena website that I was recognized as the best in the tour. For me, the main thing is the victory of the team, and personal achievements take a back seat. We haven’t won for a long time, so it was important to get three points. I would not have been able to achieve such a result without my partners.
– Kudrivka has not lost five matches in a row: two wins and three draws. What components of your team’s success can you point out?
– We work as a team on the field and follow the coach’s instructions. We have 25 players in our team and each one is useful. Desire, dedication and discipline help us achieve results.
– In what, first of all, did Kudrivka achieve progress after the appointment of Vasyl Baranov?
– The team is always evaluated by the result, so it is worth waiting for the end of this part of the season. Of course, some tactical changes in the training process took place, but it is difficult to radically change something in such a short period of time. We try to implement coaching instructions as much as possible.
– With what expectations did you approach the match against YUKSA? How much did skipping the tour help your team?
– We approach every match with the desire to win. Unfortunately, it does not always work out, but it is not possible to win every time in football. At the beginning of the season, the schedule was quite difficult, because the matches of the Cup of Ukraine were also played. They were a bit tired and the three days off came in handy. During the week, they worked on their own mistakes and approached the match with YUKSA with renewed strength.
– Did you understand that it is first of all important to neutralize the opponent’s legionnaires? Can you say that you have coped with this task?
– Yuksa is a good team with quality football players. We did not single out anyone in particular, because there are also very qualified Ukrainians in this team. We analyzed the team as a whole, highlighted their strengths and weaknesses. I think we prepared well for the game.
– Kudrivka scored twice in 18 minutes. You distinguished yourself with a chic shot on the back nine from an acute angle. Is this one of your most spectacular goals in recent times?
– I really enjoyed this goal. Not every match can be scored from an acute angle like that. I want to score as many beautiful goals as possible.
– In the 30th minute, you scored a penalty. Remember that episode? Did the experience help you break through cold-bloodedly at such a crucial moment?
– I can’t say that it was the experience that helped. Approached the ball and shot into the opposite corner from the goalkeeper. It’s good that everything turned out that way.
– What did the coaching staff focus on during the break, because even a two-goal advantage against such an opponent did not guarantee victory?
– The coach told us that a two-goal advantage is the most dangerous. It was important not to relax and continue to play our football. It’s good that we still managed to win.
– In the middle of the second half, the score was already 3:3. What made it possible not to break down psychologically, because it was very unfortunate to lose the advantage?
– We had such matches in which we won, and then conceded twice and it was necessary to catch up. Unfortunately, we like to make life difficult for ourselves. It’s good that they still won. This testifies to Kudrivka’s strength of character.
– In the 73rd minute, Legostaev brought victory to Kudrivtsi with his shot. Did Artem breathe a sigh of relief after the goal?
– They calmed down already after the final whistle. We understood that the opponent will do everything to win back, so it is necessary to continue working.

– I wouldn’t say so. We like to make life difficult for ourselves, and then we still achieve the result. I will remember the cup match against Livy Bereh, in which they won 3:2. We are already used to this and play until the final whistle.
– Kudrivka scored a record number of goals for the club in one match in the First League – four goals. Did you expect such performance from yourself?
– It’s good that our team is setting new records. I hope we will score even more. We always believe in our own strength and try to play on the attack. Sometimes the implementation fails, but we are constantly working on the game in attack.
– You are just one point ahead of the fifth place. Density in the standings is significant. Does Kudrivka have sufficient personnel resources to sustainably hold the most important matches of the first part of the season?
– I believe that our team has two equal players for each position. The coaching staff rotates, which favors Kudrivka. There are no problems with the personnel.
– Which match of your team did you enjoy the most, and which one disappointed you?
– I got the most pleasure from the match with YUKSA. They played a quality match against a worthy opponent. It is nice to participate in matches where teams play on the attack. The match with Victoria was disappointing, when they lost 0:2. I then let the team down when I got sent off.
– Remember the youth Euro-2009. Is this probably the most memorable tournament for you in your entire career? Maybe you can recall some interesting stories? How do you like working with Yuriy Kalitvyntsev?
– It’s really a very memorable tournament, because I haven’t won any more trophies in my career. This will remain in memory for a lifetime. He worked with Kalitvyntsev since he was 15 years old. He also played with this coach in Dynamo-2. This is one of the soccer parents for me. I learned a lot from him and it helped me move to a professional level.
In the pregame theory before the match against England, Yuri Mykolayovych named the starting line-up and did not put any more psychological pressure on the players. This surprised us, but then we realized that there was no need to say anything, because we were playing the final.
– You played for Minsk, Hatayspor and Giresunspor. How would you rate your experience abroad?
– He enjoyed football and life in Turkey. I will always remember these times with warmth.
– In the 2017/18 season, you became Giresunspor’s top scorer. Surely, it was in this team that it was possible to reveal its potential?
– It was a good period in my career, because I managed to score a number of goals. However, I believe that he revealed his potential the most in Chornomorets Odesa in the 2016/17 season. Then I scored seven goals in a season.
– How difficult was it for you to adapt in Turkey?
– There were no problems with this, because the club provided me with all the best conditions for a comfortable life. I always had a translator with me who helped. Any problems were solved immediately.
– In the 2021/22 season, you played for Aktobe. Do you regret that you signed a contract with this club, after all, you played only six matches?
– I don’t regret anything. In Kazakhstan, the championship is played from March to November. I joined the team at the end of August. This is a very famous club in Kazakhstan. The stands were filled at every home match. Happy to be a part of this team. He missed three matches before the end of the season due to illness, but he played regularly.
– Who suggested you sign a contract with Kudrivka? What first interested you in this young club?
– After the injury, it was necessary to recover for a long time. I didn’t want to go somewhere far from home. An acquaintance suggested an option with Kudrivka. I talked with the coach and understood that the club is setting itself ambitious tasks. Happy to join the team. Everything suits me.
– How do you manage to keep yourself in such great shape and playing tone at the age of 34? Maybe there are some secrets?
– It is important to be disciplined and always take care of yourself. Diet and sleep are very important. If you like football, you will keep yourself in good shape. I love football even more over the years.
